Yoga Teacher Timer

A timer that knows it's in a yoga class

Most timers were built for kitchens and workouts. This one was built for a quiet room full of people breathing. It's silent by default — no beeps, no buzzes — and when time's up, the screen softly pulses so you can see it from across the room.

The Yoga Hours app includes two ways to keep time while you teach — a simple timer for when you just need a clock, and a guided timer that runs the class you planned.

The simple timer

Just need a clock? Set a countdown for a five-minute Savasana or a long Yin hold, or run a stopwatch to see where the time went. Two taps and it's running.

  • • Countdown presets for common hold lengths, plus custom times
  • • Stopwatch mode that counts up while you teach
  • • Silent by default — vibration is opt-in
  • • A soft visual pulse when the countdown ends
  • • The screen stays awake for the whole hold

Deliberately simple: it's a teaching utility, not an interval workout app.

The guided flow timer

Planned a class in Flow Builder? The guided timer runs it with you, pose by pose — each hold counted in the minutes or breaths you chose, with the next pose cued so you always know what's coming.

  • • Runs your planned sequence pose by pose, section by section
  • • Pose names shown with their Sanskrit
  • • Breath-based holds converted to gentle countdowns
  • • Untimed poses simply wait — advance when you're ready
  • • Pause, skip, or step back at any moment

It runs alongside you while you teach — glance when you need it, lean on it as you find your rhythm.

The guided timer gets its plan from the yoga sequence builder — build a class once, and every hold you set becomes part of how it's taught. Afterwards, add the class to your teaching hours log.
