Messages You Send Us
If you contact us through the app or our website contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message so we can respond.
App Usage Analytics
The mobile app records usage events — such as screens viewed and features used — together with your account identifier, the app version, and your platform (iOS or Android). This analytics data is first-party: it is stored in our own database, is never sold, and is not shared with advertising networks. We use it to understand which features help teachers and to improve the app. It is retained under the same rules, and deleted on the same schedule, as the rest of your account data.
Notification Preference
If you enable session reminders in the mobile app, we record whether notifications are enabled for your account. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device; we do not operate a push-notification service.
Automatically Collected Information (Website)
We automatically collect certain information when you use our website:
- Device information (browser type, operating system)
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
- IP address (for security and analytics purposes)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process your transactions and manage your account
- Calculate and display your teaching hours totals and progress
- Send you transactional emails about your account (security, billing, legal notices) and, where you have not opted out, engagement emails with reminders, progress updates, and product announcements
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
Email Communications
We send two categories of email:
Transactional Emails
Transactional emails are required for the operation of your account. These include account verification, password resets, security alerts, billing and subscription notifications, legal notices, and responses to your support inquiries. You cannot opt out of transactional emails while you maintain an active account, as they are necessary for providing the Service.
Engagement and Marketing Emails
Engagement emails include reminders to log activity, updates about your progress toward training goals, tips for using the app, new feature announcements, and occasional promotional offers. You can opt out of these communications at any time by:
- Clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any engagement email
- Updating your email preferences in your account settings
- Contacting us through our contact form
Opting out of engagement emails will not affect your receipt of transactional emails.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service that implements industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- Row-level security policies
- Regular security audits and monitoring
- Access controls and authentication
We implement additional security measures including secure password hashing, HTTPS encryption, and regular security updates. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
Supabase
We use Supabase for authentication and database services. Your account and hours data are stored on Supabase's secure servers in the United States. View their privacy policy at https://supabase.com/privacy.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website (not the mobile app). Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to visiting. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics is restricted by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Plausible Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. View their privacy policy at https://plausible.io/privacy.
RevenueCat (Mobile App)
Our mobile app uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat collects information about your subscription status, purchase history, and device identifiers to enable subscription features. View their privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple Sign In
Our mobile app offers Sign in with Apple as an authentication option. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email address with us (or a private relay email if you choose). Apple's use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Google OAuth
We offer Google as a sign-in option. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google. Google's use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
The mobile app does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. App usage analytics are first-party, as described above.
Subscription and Payment Information
If you subscribe to our premium service through the mobile app, your payment is processed by Apple or Google through their respective app stores. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We receive information about your subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) through RevenueCat to enable premium features.
The information we collect about subscriptions includes:
- Subscription status and tier
- Subscription start and expiration dates
- Purchase platform (iOS or Android)

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our service.

For Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: your account data and the hours, programs, flows, and schedules you record — processing them is the service itself

- Legal obligation: records we must retain by law
In addition to the rights above, you have the right to object to or request restriction of processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We will respond to rights requests within one month.

Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country if higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete such information.
International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and your information is stored and processed there, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland rely on appropriate safeguards, including the Standard Contractual Clauses implemented by our service providers. You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.
