About Yoga Hours

Built from a yoga mat, a notebook, and a moment of uncertainty.

Hi, I'm Michelle Reeves — product builder, designer, and lifelong student of movement and mindfulness. I live just outside Nashville in the suburb of Mount Juliet, a place that's become home as I've built a family, a career, and a creative life rooted in curiosity and possibility.

Yoga Hours began long before I ever wrote a line of code for it.

It started in college, when yoga first reshaped how I saw myself and the world around me. Years later, during the uncertainty of 2020, I found my way back to that grounding practice while navigating furloughs, parenting, and a tech career in flux. To bring some calm and direction into a chaotic year, I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training program — something I'd always wanted to do, but never paused long enough to pursue.

That training reignited a familiar joy.

But the process of tracking my hours?

Not so joyful.

Paper logs. Spreadsheets. Random notes. A system that felt more scattered than centered.

As a yogi-in-training and a product designer/developer, I saw a gap I couldn't ignore. So I built the tool I needed: a simple iOS app called Breathe in Retrospect to help teachers-in-training record their practice hours cleanly and mindfully. The response from the yoga community surprised me — thousands of yogis downloaded it, and it became clear the need for something modern, mobile, and sanity-saving was bigger than I realized.

The next chapter: Yoga Hours

Yoga Hours is the evolution of that early idea — rebuilt from the ground up, expanded for today's teachers, and designed to support the real-world requirements of Yoga Alliance training programs.

It's simple.

It's intuitive.

And it works the way yoga feels: grounding, clean, and free of clutter.

With Yoga Hours, you can:

  • Log your teacher training hours with ease
  • Keep everything organized in one place
  • Ensure your hours align with YA requirements
  • Track your progress toward certification — without spreadsheets or stress

I'm still a one-woman team, building this from Mount Juliet during naptimes, late nights, and creative sprints — supported by my family, my community, and the belief that small, thoughtful tools can genuinely make life easier for people doing meaningful work.

If Yoga Hours lightens your path, organizes your journey, or helps you step further into your calling as a yoga teacher, then it's doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for practicing.

And thank you for letting Yoga Hours be part of your story.
